An otherworldly place to visit. On a recent trip to Portland, this was a destination stop for me and my bf. I’ve followed Roots & Crowns for years and ordered products online. Imagine my excitement when we walked in and Max invited us to embark on a sensory journey and experience their new (at that time unreleased) fragrance line, Malka Sima. We spent an uninterrupted hour learning about Max’s creative process and experiencing beautiful, intricate, and clean fragrance combinations. What a magical way to spend a morning, sharing a real world connection in a lovely space with such a generous human. Thank you Max for exceeding my online expectations. 🤍🤍🤍

I’ve been using Roots and Crowns for years and I figured it’s time to make a review. I am so deeply impressed with the quality of everything I have ordered. Not only is it obvious that they use quality ingredients but it’s also clear that everything is made with love and genuine attention. To top it off everything in the order I just received smells so good. The smells are not over the top, they are natural as if I were rolling around in a rose bush (would not recommend) or a forest of pine trees. I would order everything for all my friends if I could. Maybe someday. Highly recommend!

Every time I’ve stopped in has been a special experience. The store is so thoughtfully curated and the owner and staff members I’ve spoken with have been welcoming, kind, and genuinely interested in ensuring that you’re happy with the products. The seasonal chai is one of my favorite teas and I’ve gifted candles to multiple people. I’ve been trying to find a lilac scent for a family member for whom it’s a favorite flower, but who can’t have live flowers in the room. The new lilac perfume is beautiful and light and I can’t wait to share it with her.

When I was in Portland I found this adorable shop and bought the most incredible rose oil. I seriously will travel back to Portland (from Santa Barbara) just to get more and see what other beautiful items they have. Visit this place, it'll become your new favorite hobby!
